Any photographers in here?

Well I went to the beginner photography class today and I learned why my pics don't come out very well so im gonna play around with the settings and post some up soon.

Sorry..not diggin the font too much. And the way it's placed. And the x1000r/min ....you don't need it in there because we know it's a tachometer already. It'd also be cool if he can add some red in the actual tach..like the needle motion or the redline limit. I dunno...it's a good attempt but I feel it's gotta go back to the drawing board. Plus..the photos you post vs this logo....doesn't make sense....I don't know if that makes sense to anyone. Sorry..I'm not hatin'...just think that the logo gotta be thought through a bit more.

I've got the PS layers of this so I can make any changes. He did it for free so....
What font were you thinking was better? Any ideas? I did notice that as I scaled this to pictures that font was kind of difficult to read.
I'll remove the x1000 thingee.

I'm trying to break into the automotive field and this is the logo and company name I decided to go with. I can have a separate one for portraits or whatever when I get into that.

Ordered the Sigma 10-20mm this morning!
w00T! Can't wait!

Also shot this at a work function Saturday. f2, 800 ISO. She was givin' me the look of death for about 5 minutes. Had that light saber been real, I'd have been toast.

Ahh..okay..Well if it's for automotive stuff, that's cool then. I would rather have one for all types.

As for font..I'm not sure. Something easier to read i guess. Depends on what you want the client to know about you. And what you want to say to them. Your design friend should know stuff about branding as well. It should say something about you, your niche, the type of market you're in, etc etc.

Oh ya, PAY him for a legit logo man. I paid my friend to make mine as well. He asked me a few questions, came up with it in about an hour.

Just one question on that logo... How does it looks when shrinked for a picture?
I think its gonna lose a lot of details on the tach.

The Jeep looks nice! One of these days we want to fix up the wheels on our Wrangler and paint them black.

He actually had some funky font in there the first time. He recommended this one instead. Charlemagne somethin' somethin'. I can screw around with it and find a better one.
I don't have the money to pay a graphic designer. I haven't had any really good paying shoots yet, just a couple for a few bucks here and there. :(
No one wants to pay money to have their car shot in my area. Most are content with the cell phone pics. It seems like everyone knows a fauxtographer with a dSLR set on auto.

The tach is not what worries me, but rather the font choice. It does get harder to read as it gets smaller.

ya..the numbers also have to be a different color. The gray does not stick out too well against any picture. Either make it white, or make it red to match your font. The black "redline" gotta be red because that's what a tach looks like. And the gray "needle motion" can be lighter in color as well. The font needs to pop though..I'll leave that up to you to pick style, type, and color hehe.

finally getting to my DC pics, one of my favorites

So you had money to buy a lens but none to get a logo going? Manage that cash better dude.

Lens vs. logo. What wins?

I got a decent logo from a friend for just a thanks and some forum rep points and agreeing to spread the company name around. I couldn't get a lens for free. Adorama wouldn't give me credit for spreading their name around no matter how many times I asked. :(

I work a minimum wage job. I saved up a looooong time to be able to afford a lens that wasn't the $100 50mm I've been using until now. As I stated I've made a total of $30 on this photography thing. I have no intention of making this a career, just some money on the side.

I would love advice on fonts and design choices, but don't tell me how to spend my hard-earned money please. Thanks.
