Any photographers in here?

got my cf card for the 20D yesterday... played around with it abit. nothing to post though since they all SUCKED lol

OK so i brought back the D3100, I know.....why??? right?....Well it was more camera than I really wanted....needed....knew what to do with.....I think when I have more time i will invest in something like that.....so for now I bought in exchange the Canon Powershot SX30 IS.....and I must say for an advanced P&S its more my speed....Still can get some really great pictures out of it......I like that in auto it can detect macro and other settings that I just dont have the patience for right now. i wanted a somewhat simple yet great camera. and I think I found it......see pics below....just samples I will play more tomorrow and over the weekend with more features....

Auto the dslr wan't good enough? To each their own, I guess. Glad you are happy. :D

Looks like a night portrait setting where it does a flash with long exposure, but the temp is not set for incandescent lighting so its overly warm

All manual settings. Slow shutter, Iso400-800, 2nd or rear sync on the speedlite and wide open aperture. And I increased the vibrance. The white balance is fine on it. When I switch to tungsten or fluorescent white balance..it's either too yellow or too blue. It's a custom white balance setting with the vibrance knocked up more than usual.

Mazda MX-5 by Vocko, on Flickr

@Funky - I like the second on best, because of the natural lighting. Did you use a flash as a fill in?

Also, advice needed... Sky is all blown out. How can I fix this in future (without taking 2 pics)?

circular polarizer or graduated neutral density filter... or underexpose the interior slightly, and you might be able to recover highlights and get some definition in the sky.
Or just use a flash.

Ya..there was a flash bounced off a wall behind me to fill in some light.

as for the sky, maybe a graduated neutral density filter will help, or underexpose it a bit and use the flash.

This past weekend, I got one of these:

And one of these:

Both are for use with my SB-700 Speedlight. I've been having fun with some test shots. I would like to double up on my setup. Requests for suggestions soon.
