Any photographers in here?

Well if it actually works then no need to laugh.
thats what I use for 90% of my processing. I want to get the newer version. the new one has noise reduction, mine doesn't, but I think I have to upgrade OSes to get it.

that and I really just need to start using some real software. for now, i'm still the limiting point. I tried to take a pic of the ring... and w/o a macro lens, I couldn't get ANYTHING to come out for s***.

I use arcsoft panorama maker 5... it works really well, except in the extreme corners of a tile panorama. Here is an example:

you can see the problem in the bottom right corner. The rest of the photo is pretty great!

Here is a normal pano:

The trick with arcsoft is that you have to process your raw files into jpgs before doing the panorama. I've accidentally done raws before and it messes with the exposure comp in post and the pictures turn out at different exposure levels. Just FYI. Also, make sure that you cover more ground than you actually want in your final product, because there are definite issues in the corners and edges of bigger panoramas.

can you do Tiff files or PNG?

I went out and played with some stuff today... I'll let you know how it comes out. For now, I decided to go back and edit a picture from the vault. I previously thought it wasn't salvageable, but with some pshop magic and a couple filters:

Ish... the lighting wasn't great and yeah the clouds were a bit blown out. Took it sometime last year and just stumbled across it and decided to play. I get lucky once in a while...

yeah it didn't look too bad... as long as you're at ISO 100-200, you can usually do whatever you want to a photo and come out ok. Me especially now at 15mp resolution. I can crop to my heart's content!

My first panorama ever, stiched the right way. I used the roof of my car as a tripod :)

cool shot. looks like you had a pretty wide aperture though. I like night shots with small apertures (f/10ish) because it makes lights into pretty stars!
