Any photographers in here?

What do you guys recommend in the ways of bags/cases? I read some nice things about the Lowepro Slingshot series, as well as the Crumpler Million Dollar Home bags. I'm looking for something casual (not professional looking) that will be able to hold my D40, 18-55mm, 55-220mm, and some room for other little things.

Any recommendations or suggestions?

Thanks.

I use a tamarac adventure series 6/7

That's nice. Looks like it can easily hold a body and 2 lenses.

Is it durable enough? Do you like it so far?

Its good. it has a waist strap and a chest strap. There is also an option to add on accessories or something. I never really looked into it.

It has room for a body with an average size lens attached and either 4 lens, 2 lens and a flash.. and a front compartment for batteries, memory cards, filters, etc.

I'm looking to buy the LowePro Dry Rover as it is a hydration pack and camera bag. I go hiking a lot so I can totally use it on the hikes without having to carry water bottles etc.

totally forgot the TOP half of the bag is for other stuff like two bottles of water, lunch, etc.

Chowhound, pics look a little too sharp. Did you adjust?

I applied an unsharp mask to the sunset pic, looks like I may have gone overboard with the parameters. I am still learning, so I will go back and give it another shot with the filter scaled back a bit. My intent was to make the branches stand out a little more.

Thanks for the comment.

I have several bags....my "store everything and haul everything" bad is a Dakine Sequence; plenty of room for all types of items and the removable inside bad is great! I also have a LowePro Slingshot 100 AW that i use to ski with and general use. Also got a Tamrac Velocity 7x for free with my body and its the bad i use the most...take it everyday everywhere I go.

I seriously laughed when I read that he is a a good reference

lmao

He is a good reference. There is no question about that. He tests more equipment then anyone else on the net and writes his findings in a easy to access way. You dont have to agree with his conclusions to be able to get good information about equipment. If he wouldnt buy a lens you just laid down $$$ for it doesnt mean its not a good lens for you.

IDK, maybe you could be a little more specific about why you think hes not a good resource of Nikon information.

you mean other than the guy is an asshat

- he has no scentific or any reasonable testing
- he makes s*** up
- everything Nikon makes is better than everyone else

or besides that?

seriously if you believe anything he writes its funny he even says himself in his posts that he is full of s***

I may shoot Canon but I am no Canon lover but he is definetly a Nikon one

anyway the whole thing with him and being an idiot has been beaten to death, if you want to make the guy rich for clicking on his links to different sites and gets paid for it go for it, I have read enough of his crap to realize the guy is a moron

back on topic I have a few bags

I use the lowepro flipside which is nice, especially if you have some 400mm lenses and you dont want to take around a massive bag, I love taking it out to the zoo, around places where I need bigger lenses

I have a slingshot 200 which I use if I am using landscapes, cities etc, sort of sucks with a battery grip on though its to tight for my linking

then if I am traveling or going to bring around alot of gear I use the lowepro computrekker plus, with my laptop in it, 2 cameras, & 8 lenses its crazy heavy

any of you guys mess around with HDR?? (Sorry if this has been brought up i searched and looked through 80% of this tread) If so Just curious to see what you use for software and stuff
