Any photographers in here?

and a 2x TC will not AF unless you have a 1D camera, the 1.4x "should" with the tape trick but its horribly slow

the 70-300IS is an ok lens but for the price the 70-200 F4 Non IS is much better

I had the 70-300IS and I got rid of it and got the 100-400L

and there is no such thing as a 70-200 sigma for 200-300 bucks for a canon mount that I have ever seen, the only 70-200 they have is a 2.8 and its 750 bucks

and I dont think you realize that a 2x TC will double your shutter speed, you have no chance in hell of using it at night unless your taking pics with a good tripod and its a stationary object

and the IQ will be hurt quite a bit as well at the best of times, at night forget about it

Anyone know anything about Tokina lenses? I'm looking into getting a 12-24mm f4 and all the reviews seem to be pretty good. I'm no professional so it doesn't need to be the greatest lens just looking for something with decent quality at a decent price. It will be for a Nikon if that makes any difference.

I am NEEDINIG an IS lens. I already have a cannon 70-300 from my Rebel G, but, any zoom shots i have been taking at max zoom, i shake too bad. Had to get my point and shoot with IS as well.

And, the sigma lens is at the local Ritz.

tokina makes a good lense, have no worries about purchasing. I'm looking at getting their super wide angle 11-16mm for canon...It got rated the best super wide a year or so ago.

I've gone through a lot of reviews and everyone seems to like it. I'd like to go super wide angle like the 11-16 you're talking about but I think that might be too much for me. They seem reasonably priced so if the 12-24 turns out ok maybe I'll look into something more "wide". Have you used any of there lenses before?

if you can get a sigma 70-200 2.8 for 200-300 bucks get me 10 of them because its not possible, I bet its a 70-300

I use a 400mm non IS and I just snapped this a few hours ago, increase your ISO and problem solved this is at ISO 1000

I got a 55-250 IS and love the darn thing. $300 is not bad price either...
