Any other Firearm owners/enthusiasts here?

i guess rounds isn't realy the problem but after you add in the targets, the range time, the ear and eye protection it adds up pretty fast. last time i went i fired 150 rounds and it cost me about 40 bucks. i need to find someone with alot of land and just go shoot bottles and cans. thats tough to find in metro atlanta though. i could always go downtown and shoot with the criminals, no one would even notice.

Does your range offer memberships or let you use your own supplies? My range offers a yearly unlimited range time membership for $175. I bought some ears and eyes at Walmart for less than 10 bucks for each. I get all of my targets from www.letargets.com and are under 50 cents a piece.

LOL...or you could just clean up the ghetto a little as you were saying.

I apologise for not reading the entire thread, but yes I'm a gun enthusiast here in Houston. (big surprise, huh?)

Not at all. It's actually interesting the number of people who are Mazda and gun enthusiasts.

I have a full sized HK USP 45. Awsome gun. I have a little under 1000 rounds through it, and the recoil is less than some 9mm I have shot. Its big $$, but this is the only one I plan on owning, so I went all out.

Always been a gun enthousiast for as long as I can remember. My dad has been a duck hunter since he was 16, and he would take me with him when I was 2 (I'm now 38). I was a gunsmith for a while, but gun laws here in Canada are so tough that this profession will probably disapear with time, so I quit while it was time.

I own a Remington 1100 Skeet B 12ga semi-auto shotgun, also have a Trap barrel for it, and I also have an old model 512A Remington bolt action .22 rifle with a 24in barrel (it was made in 1940, given to me by my grandfather and I completely rebuilt-it, has no value other than sentimental).

I use to have Brno rifles (.22 Hornet and .222 Rem), a Browning 30-06 with falling block action (a collector item), a Browning BT-99 Trap gun, a .22 Browning Challenger pistol, a Remington 7400 .270 semi-auto hunting rifle, a .54 cal Black Powder rifle and others I can't remember...a Ruger 10-22 and a Remington 788 in cal.22-250 I think.

My dad is a sales rep for Thompson Arms, Garmin, and other goodies...

here is a of my baby. this thing is for protection only, not serious taget shooting or hunting going on. can't afford the rounds.
Nice. I used to have one just like it, among these:
50 cal Desert Eagle (shot it once, ran off in a corner and cried :p)
9mm Baretta (ewww)
12 gauge shotgun
Derringer that shot 22 bbcaps(CUTE, but horribly inaccurate :D)
45 cal musket (ya, these guys got a lotta looks when fired at the range :D)
50 cal Kentuckian musket (insanely long)

I wish I had kept the Kentuckian, but my st00pid ex took all my guns except my little .22 bolt that i still have.

I want a collection again--someday...:(

I prefer open sight. :p

Shine on Humvee!! Hurray to no guns for Canadians!!!(canada) (bluemp3) (canada)
Hooray?!?!? OMG, they've got you blinded. ;)

That's like driving a car around without insurance. Sure, you may get by for a couple of years fine, but when you do get in a tiff, you're screwed.

meh...to each his/her own...:)

All you need in KY for a concealed carry permit is be 21, a backround check (no violent, alchahol related charges), a clear psychiatric record, take a training course, and hit a targewt with your handgun 8 out of 20 shots (that's pitiful)
hells yah dude! how much does it cost? what restrictions are there?

most places in Texas post no hangun signs, so it didn;t really matter if you had a permit or not.

My toys at the moment include:

45 APC Highstar
357 Ruger Blackhawk
.38 Chief Special

I have a few others, but these are the ones I take out alot at the range. I also have a large collection of Kentucky long rifles, and various flintlock and percussion cap pistols.

Much fun. :D

I want another!! I was lucky to get my Kentuckian from a pawn shop for like 80 bux. I wonder if they have any gun shows coming up soon....we used to go to those for fun all the time when I was a kid...

A while back I was looking for a .50 Desert Eagle....unfortunatly I couldn't find one for under $1500. Plus the hefty price of about 2 dollars a shot was a bit of a hinderance as well.

What I'm really looking for at the moment is a german 1560's wheel-lock kit. I know a bunch of years ago they had them available at gun shows and what not. Finding one now is damn near impossible.

I love gun shows, but I have a problem. Every time I go, I usually end up buying something. Guns are an addiction....lol.

Gunshows rock...although I still kick myself for one in particular. I went to one a few years ago, and found a civillian model Styer AUG. Man that was a sweet piece. I wish to this day I had gotten it...:(

Yeah I know what you mean. Last time I was at a show there were a few Makarovs I wanted to pick up and the prices were awesome.

Ain't that the truth. :)

I went to range yesterday with 400 rounds of .40, and 550 .22... If I could somehow get the guns to clean themselves, or get the break-free smell out of my hands, it would have been perfect, instead of just being really fun. ;)

The gun shows around here suck as a general rule though.. I do pick up reloading stuff pretty cheap, but the inventory is usually all used, krappy, beat up junk. Tis ok though, my gun shop only charges me 4% over cost most of the time for new ones... :)

Yeah, cleaning guns is one of the most overlooked things IMO. Every time I come back from the range I will give them a field strip and a good cleaning. I've even taught my gf how to strip them down and clean them, so I can get them cleaned faster. It's nice to have an assembly line for cleaning.

Usually the guns shows around here have quite a bit, but with the new laws in MD, they may not stay nice for long. I want to pick up a nice 1911 and a .357 revolver pretty soon I think.
