The piping before the muffler itself is 1.75" (same as a stock P5). It bolts right up to the stock mid-pipe.

are you sure it's going to fit? i thought the protege5 and the sedans were different sizes.. (protege5 is about 5 inches shorter).

i think thats why he wants axle back, so he can just weld.

the length difference (approx 4.5 inches) is made up AFTER the muffler. By cutting the section between the exhaust tip and the muffler out (and then re-welding, of course), you will have the right length for a P5.
