Any MP3's removed their 2nd Catalytic converter?

Just wondering if any MP3's out there have removed their second catalytic converter. Do you guys have any problems with a CEL? Does it give the car a better sound? Also, is there a O2 sensor on the second cat? Is that why we're able to remove it?

no o2 sensor, i removed mine, it gives it a throatier sound to it, it is also louder, no problems just a little more horsepower, oh yea and no CEL's as of yet

Just found out that it'll cost me 60 bucks to get this done....i'm pretty sure that i'll do it once the spring comes. Don't want to do it without the racing harts on

u should do what i did...since there is a cat on out headers just have them do 2.25".... two and a quarter inch exhaust....sounds really good

I have had the bosal federal exhaust(the one without the second cat) and no problems. I have had it for around a year. Sounds Great!

Does it matter if you use 2.5" piping or 2.25"? What size is on there right now?

And what exactly do you mean by this

sorry that was a typo...i mean there is already a catalytic coverter attached to our header..the exhaust manifold down pipe...they have 2 inch pipe on there i believe now before...and if u go to 2.5 then u will actually loose horsepower due to major backpressure...

I'm getting this done real soon....so should i add a 2.25" or a 2.5"....need help!!!!!!!!!!!

I assume that NYCZMP3 meant that i should use a 2.25" pipe

2.5 is good on the bigger side, just dont go to 3.0.
you may loose a little tourque be cause you WONT HAVE AS MUCH BACKPRESSURE! but you will gain hp because your exhaust will flow more freely if you want your car to be more tourqueish side get the 2 1/4 but if you want more on the hp side get the 2.5 eather way you wont be at a loss what ever you decide will be an improvement over stock
