aaaaaaaa My mp3's racing beat exhaust is rusting on the inside! I showed it to my dealer and he said to contact racing beat about it so has any one else had any problems? I dont think this should happed to any exhaust/muffler espeshly a one with 4,000 mi on it and one made buy a company like racing beat! Maybe I'll get some pics when I get my car back from my neibors garage.

I personally haven't had this issue nope....not quite sure why this wouldn't be covered under your normal warranty tho.

I can see why they told me to ask racing beat, nobody at my dealer even knows what a mp3 is.
I emailed racing beat about it, still waitn to get a resposne we'll see what they say.
fingers crosed for the "were so sorry, heres the full cat-back kit and 500$" senario

this shouldn't be happening at all. And I would get the dealer to replace it under warranty. There just isn't any excuse they could give you to NOT replace it.

Just curious though, do you keep the car in a heated garage after you wash it?

mine is like that too. Did you try a search yet? I found that the inside lip and inside area get rusty pretty easily, Hell I have surface rust on the whole outside of muffler too.

:(

Nice dealer! They musn't realize that the car came with the racing beat exhaust. I'd point that out to them and make them take care of it under warranty. Mufflers will rust, especially if you take short trips because they don't get hot enough to burn off all of the condensation that occurs inside the muffler. But at 4,000 is completely rediculous!

I don't really have too much of a problem with rust spots even though I park my car outside everyday. Just a few tiny spots. The inside lip of mine is just black from all the soot collected there.

ok I think Im gona take a trip down to my dealer RB says they never heard of that happing and the tip is made from stainless (doesnt look like it is though) and sence I bought it through mazda to take it up with them. The only think with warrenty is that I would have to let them put it in and I dont want there grease monkys touching my car! Id rather do it my self anyways.

heres some pics of the nastyness

Mine looks similar, although I don't think it is rust. It might be something with all the carbon deposits in the tail pipe...

I think that may be kind of normal...grab some mothers metal polish and get down and dirty, should come right off...that stuff works great on the whole exhaust as well...good luck (I;m going to take a look at mine at lunch and see if I see the same thing...
:)

maybe im just a weirdo... but those pics have kind of a 'perverted' feeling.. lol ... i feel like i shouldnt be lookin in there.. like im violating the poor car lol lol (lol)

It's not just you Ifelt the same way. I looked at mine today and all I see is the black carbon build up.

I checked with my mechanic & rust proof person right after winter about this & they told me it's normal deposits. So long as the outside does not rust, no need to panic.

so maybe weather is the issue here...i'm in houston...which has no snow at all, i could say...everytime after i wash my car, i clean it up inside and out by wet cloth or paper towel...it is still as shiny as i got it with little what you guys said black carbon remains...

Ok I went to mazda today to inquire about the warrenty on it.
It was pretty funny everybody looked at me as if I was the most anal person they had ever seen (which is probably true) they also were in aw at my pristien mp3, the guy was like callen every body to come look at it. hehe I was all like  they said that they had to contact the big mazda and ask them if they'll pay for it. Any ways its really expensive from mazda for some reson like $400  so for that price im better off getting the full cat-back kit only problem is I have no money :' (I find my self asking myself why I care so much about a little rust then a voise answers me and says "Its cause your crazy numb nuts" hmmm oh well.

uhh WTF? Your whining about having rust spots on the EXPOSED STEEL part of the inside of your muffler? That is SO normal to happen, if you get it replaced, that will just keep occuring until the dealer tells you to f' off. I would be VERY surprised if they replace it at all. Its not like its malfunctioning or anything

Even the outside polished part of your muffler will eventually show signs of rust. It is completely normal for an exhaust to get rust on it.

Hell, take off your heat sheild and look at all the rust on the exhaust manifold. I guess you need a new one!!! Turns out it had rust when you bought the car! Its natural for exposed steel to rust.
