hey guys,,, hope everyone is having fun w/ their MS3's this winter. man, I haven't been online here in a couple months, too much crap going on at work.

I've got the 16" steelies on now w/ Michelin Alpin PA3's and been enjoying the winter here in new england.

anyhow, curious if there is a hood scoop mod (i.e. an entire new hood w/ scoop) available for the 06 - 09 ms3. it might look stupid or be a cop magnet, but I'm just curious. I actually saw a WRX STI the other day just like my ms3 (well, at least its body shape and its grey paint), but I was jealous of how bad-ass its hood scoop looked. and then got to thinking how those STI's have AWD to boot.

anyhow, MS3 is a great value in that its 10K cheaper than the STI and essentially packs the same amount of punch. so I'm not envious. (enguard) curious though if there is a hood scoop available ... just for kicks. (glare)

DG Motorsports makes a real functioning hood out of carbon fiber or fiberglass, but that's more than you probably wanted to spend. I'm sure some ricer company sells one somewhere.

Maybe this is what your looking for??

street unit sells vented hoods in different colors but it would be much cheaper to buy a FMIC......

Its made by fiber images. You can order it from the street unit website... Although it is a pretty penny.

thx for all the ideas.... and crazy hood scoops... lol.

I just pulled a couple pics of the SU website, attached. looks good... especially w/ the black wheels. thousand bucks for the part though....

I'm going to see if I can find some STI hood scoop pics to compare this too. I'm guessing the STI scoop is a bit more extreme, which is cool on one hand but then again po-po magnet on the other. hMMMmMmM

i've seen the fiber images one in person and it looks great. only thing that bothered me was that the gaps around the hood seemed more pronounced depending on the angle you looked at it but it maybe have been because it was a black hood on a red car. i have pics somewhere if you want. i would still buy it though and it definitely shouldve come stock on the car...
