Just picked up my MS3 on Saturday and am now hearing this odd and disturbing noise when I shift with any type of authority into 1st and 2nd gear. Now the car only has 200 miles on it and I have babied it so far. I am talking about a firm shift or take off in these two gears. I can basically feel it in the pedals, like a loud clunk. I will be taking it into the dealership this Friday but just looking to see if anyone else is having any issues similar to mine? Only modification is the MS CAI, it sits close to the frame rail but wouldnt make this type of noise, I would have to think. Please any help would be appreciated. The dealership better find this one fast and fix it on the first go around. Thanks in advance.

Just curious, do you have traction control turned on? Do you get it when you rev the engine hard with it in neutral?

Do you get any scraping or just a clunk? Can your passengers feel the vibration too? I wouldn't be surprised if it's a motor mount...

I was getting the same clunk...they assured me it was nothing, but they must have tightened something because it's gone now.

Have them check the front driver's side engine/tranny mount.

It isnt even at a high rpm...or in neutral...I do have DCS on..only happens immediately upon shifting. The passenger can feel it and hear it of course. I am leaning towards the mount. I will bring it by so they can "fix" it for me!

Thanks for the input guys!

Apparently, a 'little' clunk or click is 'normal', but then, the engine dropped out of my car because of a driver's side tranny/motormount failure.

I'll bet that made a nice little "clicking" noise lol
