Anti Rust Treatment

My bro in law loves Metropolitain Rust Proofing but I can get a good deal from dura tech so I am curious if they are any good.

Metropolitain are everywhere..Laval..Island..south shore. Do a search on google.

Same thing with Dura Tech...

Yes, they are good, but they make a mess of your car since they no longer wash it after the treatment.

Since they could not find an economical way to extract the oil from the water when washing the car, and they wanted to be IS014001 approved, they let you go home with a messy, dripping, smelly, smoking car. Oil ends up on your driveway instead of their grounds.

Your choice, but if you can find a spot that applies that blue oily goo, it's much better.

Well, I decided to go with my mechanic...he used to work for Toyota and Nissan...good mechanic..he knows what he is doing. Charging me $80.00 CASH for my Mazda Tribute.

Thanks for the input...depending on my mechanics' work, I will consider Duratech or Metropolitan next year.

Rustproofing

They are probably all about the same - but I'm going with Krown !
All the nieghbours use em, and all research on them is positive.
Any rustproofing job is only as good as the applicator, and it must be repeated on a yearly basis.
Time will tell ! (dunno)

I have it done in a private garage, he charged 75$ and good for 2 years. No holes drilled.

I only ever brought one car for treatment at Mtrpolitain. After I saw all the holes they drilled AND the rust that started forming around them after a few years, I never went back. They wouldn't cover the cost of repairing (painting) the rust. They ONLY cover cost if rust has eaten through the metal from the inside out....

I noticed of of my neighbours last year working on his old Buick and noticed how nice it still looked after 15 years (I think it's a 92 model). He told me how he does his own treatments. It cost him less and did a better job. So he showed me around the car...It was absolutely RUST-FREE...I couldn't believe it. Not a single spot! And it had never been repainted. So I asked him how he did it. As weird as it may sound, for the last fifteen years, he "Vaselined" the entire surrounding base of chassis every summer (heat makes it "mel" in the metal) using rubber/latex gloves. He then uses WD40 o all accessible areas metal parts. You should see his engine bay. Still looks like the car was built only a couple years back...Anyways, I've been doing it since. Hope it'll work as well for my cars as it did for his over the coming years....
