antenna question

just wondering how many of you out there have bought Daveb's new antenna? i wanted to know how it performs.. hows the reception quality on it? equal and/or better than stock?

i bought a mid length antenna powdercoated black from xelderx and it's great. much better reception than stock...it's about 6inches long billet aluminium if you're wondering

I haven't started to sell the antennas yet. I'm hoping to start making some this week. The only antennas that I have made so far have been out of 303 Stainless Steel. They were just some prototypes that I made. I made them out of S.S. only because I did not have a piece of Alum. the size I wanted. I only had some 3" and larger stock and did not want to take the time to turn it all the way down. As for the reception, I can only give U my impressions of what the Stainless Steel does. I would say it gives you about 90% of what the OEM one does. I live 1/2 way between Cleveland and Toledo and if I try to get their stations the signal is a little weaker than the OEM antenna but if I only drive like 10 miles either way they come in good. As for local channels U will not know the difference. I had it on the car when I took a trip to the North Carolina meet and really didn't have a problem with reception. Will let U know on the Alum. antennas once I make one. But good question anyway.

Yeah Dave's antennas look great. I've been talking to your better half, Dave. I'm trying to get her to give me a price quote for a black powder coated one. Then I'm going to order the rings and the antenna.

Hey DaveB...I'm getting the one that Nate won at the raffle powdercoated, hopefully. I'm waiting for a call back from the powdercoaters whether 303 SS will hold powdercoat well.

Hey daveB are you giving an estimate as to how much you had in mind if you do sell your antennas? I saw a pic of the ss one with protege5 and it looked great. Would be interested in buying one from you if you have started to sell any. Well providing they're not too high for my budget.

Aybody have any suggestions on a antenna replacement for the ES Sedans? I can't stand the manual antenna I have now. Reminds me of my wife's 90' Tercel. If you got pics, please post. Thanks.
