Another weird MSP problem...

ok call me retarded or whatevr, but what doest he fuel cut feel like? and what is pinging?

pinging is being really lean, you hear your engine ping.... fuel cut feels like, well depending on how fast you are going like hitting a wall, just a total loss of power pretty much

8000 people say fuel cut one says spark cutting off.... new plugs? or is this just temp related and nothing i can do about it?

Think what would happen if they cut fuel at 6800 rpm running 8 psi. You'd blow your motor. Its spark cut off technically but people use the generic term because they don't know any better. No big deal.

If you hear your motor pinging, which is a metallic sound like someone tapping on a piece of sheet metal with another piece of metal, its basically to late.

Everyone calls it fuel cut, but in fact it is a spark cut. No fuel = boom; no spark = big back-fire but the engine is still intact. Scary as hell the first time it happens though

ok....i guess i havn't gotten there yet. Push further...? maybe not. :)

It actually is a fuel cut.

Without any fuel in the cylinder, it doesn't matter if the spark plugs fire, as there's nothing to ignite.

a guy in our club has been hitting fuel cut (spark cut, whatever it is) at stock boost as well in the cooler weather. we built SRI from the CAI on Sunday and he's still hitting cut at stock boost. I'm not hitting cut at 7.5 psi driving the same route about 5 minutes later. go figure. I wouldn't expect going back to the stock airbox to solve the cut problem.

someone wanna link this lazy bastard to the link for CAI to SRI conversion

Just do what I did.

1. Remove filter
2. Remove pipe going into fenderwell
3. Attach filter to MAF
4. Tape IAT sensor down near filter
