Another new 5 owner...

New Mazda5 Owner,
Greetings from Willow Spring,NC!!! We bought our Mazda5 Touring back in Sept. of 09 and have been checking out the site for sometime....thought it was time to come on board. My last vehicle was a 97 Chrysler Town and Country that finally left me with no choice but(well, really gave me an excuse) to take the plunge and buy a new vehicle. After a lot of research and my wife liking the Mazda3, i stumbled on the Mazda5 and thought, thats it!!!! What a versatile vehicle that has the quirkiness and character that i used to admire with VW's i have had in the past. The car is a blast to drive, economical, i can throw my roadbike in the back without taking a wheel off, and just alot of fun. Love the styling too! Bought it with 230 miles on the clock(dealer to dealer trip) and the only mods so far are the stub antennae and the stainless exhaust tip. Plan on buying the mazda/thule roof rack towers and a couple of thule 517 peleton bike carriers at the end of next week. Windows get tinted next week too. I don't think i will do much more than that to her, but enjoy the ride!!!!!!

New Mazda5 Owner,
Greetings from Willow Spring,NC!!! ... After a lot of research and my wife liking the Mazda3, i stumbled on the Mazda5 and thought, thats it!!!! ...

Welcome! It's a wonderful vehicle. Easily one of the most versatile cars I've ever bought.

The only problem I have with is is Mazda's marketing.... which is basically non-existent.
It's interesting what you said about "stumbling upon" the Mazda 5. I did the same thing. I didn't even know it existed when I was shopping for a car.

It did make Consumer Reports Best Car list for 2010 so maybe that will give it a much needed bump in publicity.

The local dealer has had lots of success selling 5's around here (Courtenay, BC), so I see as many as 10 a day, almost all of them GT's. And almost every one has a white-hair behind the wheel (definately non-enthusiasts). I wave and honk just to drive em mad.

At the local aquatic centre, three black GT's, all with winter tires and rims, sit in the parking lot, waiting for their owers to finish their workout. Mine has rain shields on all the windows, so I can pick her out with no trouble.

Don't really know how I feel about seeing 5's on every corner.

Welcome to the 5 family.....I swear there are like no 5's around here...I see them so non frequent that I always have to point them out when I see them...kind of like when you see a rainbow...your like "Oh Sh*t...a rainbow!"
