auto-tragic, slushbox? as in what? not understanding the lingo. if u mean an automatic. then im debating on how it drives. i dont really want an auto, but nothing is actually catching my attention. there is a 2002 se-r spec v for sale at the dealer from where i got my car from with 36k, but i went on se-r.net and a lot them complain about gas mileage, not a good engine with potential in it, and what not. i dont really like the look of the car also, so that's kinda why i dont want it(se-r). the speeds i've seen are kinda over priced for me. 13k with like 40k something miles on it. no way im paying that much for one. i'll buy it for like 11k, but not 13k with mods or without. there was a yellow one that got sold on wednesday for 11.5k with 18k miles on it, so that's my main reason for not wanting to pay 13k for it. that's a 22k mile difference, or in my point of view a year in a half in mileage difference.

Yeah, automatic trans = auto-tragic. I'm an ass. I just couldn't believe someone who had a short-shifted 5 speed would go to an auto.

Anyway, good luck with the hunt. Get a Miata. You're single, with no kids, right? You can't get more fun for the money than a Miata.

lol, yeah i know what u mean. i've been driving my sister's car, and my mom's car, and im like no clutch, no shifter, and no fun. just cruise around. i had fun in my mom's car though, but that's cause it's got power, and it has a pretty good manual auto mode(540i bmw). it is going to take some getting use to. i thought about a miata because a really nice one is on sale on autotrader. i dont think i could drive around with 2 seats though because i watch a neices and nephew, so that's mainly why im not getting a 2 seater. i also have tophers car to pick from too, and i think it's a manual, but it has like a $h#t loud of mods. it's also cheaper than what gapeach wants for her car, but i'll check it out to see. it doesn't hurt to check, and i like red better than blue.

i miss my protege a lot, but i got a 2002 silver or some light blue color nissan sentra se-r spec v yesterday with 36450 miles on it. it's better than i thought it would be, but it doesn't handle like the protege. im going to miss the twisties now. it's pretty fast because it kept up with my moms car, such as my moms car would leave the protege by like 10 or so car lenghts getting on the highway. it's more like 4 or so car lenghts now. it has a loud rockford stereo system, and it holds 7 cd's(has a 6 disc changer and regular cd player in the dash). i'll take some pics later on today. i paid for most of it already, so im only paying $5400 in car payments. car note is $175 for 36 months. im using the rest of the money from the insurance company in order to pay for school next semester and pay off $400 worth of credit.

I test drove one of those in 2002-- they are quick-- have slightly more power than the Mazdaspeed out of the box. I agree the handling is no match for the Protege's but they are good cars. Nice choice-- traitor.
