I know there are tons of Threads out there on exhaust but i need some opinions on the set up im looking at putting on my P5(stock). I was looking at getting a AEM SRI, OBX header, protegegarage 2.5" Midpipe, and JIC Magic SUS DE Type 1 Exhaust... Do you think this would be to loud, and is it worth going for the midpipe? and..... What do you think the power gains would be like?

Search is your friend. Just from what I've read on these forums though: Yes it will be loud as hell, and your performance gains minimal in the grand scheme of things.

Same boat as you... What I am doing is Injen Cold Air Intake, OBX Headers, exhaust.... If your not planning on going Turbo later... Don't waste the cash on a Midpipe, if you do plan going turbo get a Midpipe... and I really do not care for being loud.... cause my car is going for the sleeper look.

Cheers hope that helps with the midpipe question.

thanks polish mikeski, ya i was half and half on a mid pipe and im not looking for it to be loud, the quiter the better, jsut dont want it to sounds like a stock exhaust.

And about the search thing, i have looked around quite a bit, and was jsut wondering if having the midpipe would help on noise, cause from some of the post i got the feeling that While running something like a mazda speed catback, and a header is stupid loud and that putting a midpipe would help it? Or i could jsut be crazy.. ahah

A nice catback exhaust itself sounds good and isnt loud. A nice catback exhaust with a header and stock midpipe sounds even better. A nice catback, Header, and catless midpipe is loud, way too loud, and somewhat sounds ricey.
But if you use a catless midpipe, and a nice catback with a turbo, it is dead sweet. not that loud either.

Yeah midpipe makes it loud... unless you go turbo... then it sounds sweet.... Midpipe only if you plan on going Turbo.

Well put bumpin_p5 (thumbsup)

K well doing a lil more research and with your guys inputs, im scraping the midpipe, and stuck inbetween getting a Racing Beat Catback or the JIC magic catback.. it seems like the racing beat is the one to go with cause EVERYONE on here LOVES them. Im jsut worried about it sounds stock.. I want it to have a nice rumble, so you can tell theres something there.. Anyone Running a RB catback with a intake and header?

I'm running and MSP muffler and OBX headers... And I love the sound.
Not loud, not ricey, just right.
I've tried getting sound clips but it just doesnt sound even close to real life with my camera.
