Another Engine goes Boom

so why excactly did they make you drive there for something that could be said over the phone?
thats what im wondering. Well they dont seem to have much of a case. They are trying the whole FMIC/BOV angle but ive got to much proof otherwise. Plus the whole deal with my engine being flooded last time doesnt exactly make them look good. but we will see.

this really really REALLY sounds super familliar to me.

They accused my intercooler and Bov for my engine failure. Also, since my tire tread was "abnormally" low they attempted to void my warranty.

Man i feel sorry for you because i also had problems prior to my engine blowing that were documented by the dealer. I had way low oil and i was losing it like crazy early on in the life of the car (4K miles). But they did not care. They stuck to their hinge that i modified the vehicle and that even though the modifictions may not have caused the engine failure, it still voided the warranty.

I am not attempting to be mean or malicious in any way, but i would get another motor dropped in there pronto. Mazda is not gonna do s*** for you. They will just sit on their ass forever.

I say get the motor swapped by a reputable shop. Geta a copy of that statement and then pursue legal action if youd like. It wont be worth your aggrivation, down time of the car, or anything else to sit with a dead car.

Get it fixed yourself and then pursue legal action with mazda. Sue them. Unless you signed that arbitration agreement.

No need to go on without a proper running vehicle.

This is so reminscent its funny. This is EXACTLY what happened to me. But they didnt blame NOS on me llol.

my car has been running for some time, but not with the new apparati yet. My manifold got lost in shipment so the designer took it upon himself to fabricate another one for me today and ship it overnight tomorrow. SO hoefully by the middle to end of next wekk i will finally have the rs in.

It sucks having all these parts sitting in your room and not be able to use them yet.

Well of course they voided it but i expected that. Now the fun begins. I and a few others have begun the process of going after mazda. For any others with similar problems that want in please feel free to pm me. This is gonna take a long time but i really feel that its gonna show results. Oh and i get my car back next week.

Bye the way im selling my Wagner Kit for $900 because it wont pass California emissions. So if anyone is interest pm me.

Oh .. my .. God. Ridiculous. Absolutely ******' ridiculous. Shame on me for takin' so long to finally read this thread, but now that I have -- sweet Jesus.

I guess I'll take a moment here to, once again, thank God that I have a dealership that's cool with mods.

Definitely keep us posted on what happens with all this bulls***. I'll ******' shoot everyone at your dealership myself if you don't get somethin' back out of all this hassle.

yeah they are a bunch of cockbites. Corporate is the ones who made the decision but they have no evidence which in the long run will screw them. Ive been researching along with another extremely intelligent individual and its not lookin good for mazda.

Posting to get subscribed... As it is of interest to me (my car is so far past stock there is no warranty hopes for me ever! LOL....) but I hope you don't get screwed. I was a Lancer owner for a while and if you guys think Mazda is bad Mitsu is right up there with them... probably every damn car company for that matter. But best of luck in this endeavour. There is no way they can pin any issue on your BOV or FMIC. So yeah, it'll be great to see you get them for being such ass's. Good luck man! Lots and lots of the best!

I mean, I knew it was 170hp before I even saw one in person. I drove it, was satisfied with it's performance, so I bought it. No mods, and guess what? No problems.

I don't see anything ignorant about that response, IMO. The car was designed for 170 bhp, so you can't double the hp and expect it to last.
I also don't think a SRI and FMIC will cause any problems. I have a SRI, DP and exhaust and haven't had any issues, yet.
I'll tell you why its ignorant: cause the motor's not near its threshold at OEM specs. Please go tell everyone in the FI Forum that the FS-DE can't handle a T25 pushing more than 7psi. PLEASE! I'd love to see it. If you think the FS-DE can't handle more than 170bhp you've got QUITE a bit to learn aobut your car.

His argument about modding is ridiculous. If people never started modifying cars, the Mazdaspeed Protege would have never been made. Mods /= problems.

I spoke with a judge today whom is a friend of mine. He looked through all the evidence and then did a lil research. He called me back and said that Mazda screwed up on this one. He suggested i go get my lawyer involved immediately. Id say he knows what he's talkin about.

Actually you MAY be able to go that route....a broken windshield IS a safety issue...
