Annoying rattle in the rear

Looking at them then taking pics won't tell you anything. You actually have to get your ass down there and torque them with a wrench before you can determine if they're loose and/or stripped. You can't imagine how much noise can come from something that is loose just a couple of threads - the noise gets amplified big time through the structure.

+1 mine were just a little loose and i guess when i tightened the passenger side, i stripped it close to the end of the threads, hence why it wouldn't tighten all the way....

That's exactly what happened to my driver side. Stripped but you'd never know just by looking at it. I had to cut that sucker off in the end.

I also have rear AWR endlinks and they've been noise free for 3 or 4 months now.

well my AWR's have BEEN noisy....i dunno what the hell, i got under there the other day and everything was still super tight....i dunno what it's hitting, but it still makes noise over some bumps and almost always makes a clunk when i go up a driveway at an angle...

I've had the same annoying rattle after about 3 months of owning mine. After reading here I decided to take a look at my endlinks again. Well the passenger side nut is completely off the endlink. Anybody know what size nut that is? I'd rather just buy a new one at the hardware store than spend 3 hours at the dealership waiting to get looked at. Thanks for the help.

FYI everyone, the nut is a 17mm 12-1.25. I just borrowed a car with the driver's side one in hand and went to lowes.

Thanks for the info. You could have just drove to Lowes with the swaybar disconnected - not a load bearing component and poses no risk driving around like that.

ok, just got from under my car....everything is nice and tight on my AWR endlinks and nothing seems to be hitting anywhere. i even tightened a little more for good measures...i played around a bit with jackin up the suspension to see if it's rubbing somewhere but can't see any possibilities... UNLESS, i have the endlinks too short and they are almost at their max flexibility so when i hit a bump or angled drive, the make the clunk sound...... is that possible? hard to tell since they have those rubber washers.

i'll be driving it shortly to have lunch with wifey, i'll update to see if it's still doing it.......

^^

Have you checked out the FRONT endlinks? I've heard of some ppl having to tighten those after hearing clunks as well.

Keep us posted.

no haven't checked the front.... but i clearly hear the noise from the rear....... i drove around a bit and it didn't sound as bad.... a couple little clunks here and there. didn't hear it when i went up at an angle but who knows....i'll let it sit like this for a couple days and see what happens.

Sometimes it's hard to pinpoint location of suspension noises so it wouldn't hurt to check out the fronts - just a suggestion. I can't stand clunks myself! BTW, how long did you have the AWR endlinks in before they started this clunking? I put mine on about 3 months ago and haven't heard a peep from them so far.

problem finally solved. driver's side bolt for the swar bar was loose...rattle finally fixed.

^^ no it's not the seatbelt, and no it's not the car jack...already checked all that before i checked the endlinks. turned out to be the endlinks, so i replaced them with AWR endlinks, and now i still get a clunk every so often but no where near as much as before......
