Angel Eyes/Halo question. PLEASE HELP!

Just got finished installing my Angel Eyes on my 3. One problem...the right side (passenger) is not as bright as the left side (driver). Any idea what would cause this?

I DID use a heavier gauge wire (16 gauge compared to ballasts' 22 gauge) to connect the driver's side positive and negative wires with the passenger side positive and negative wires. Would that be the cause of the dimmer halos on the passenger side? I wouldn't think so but I'm not THAT knowledgable about wiring...

The Angel Eyes ballasts positive wires are wired together and lead directly to a toggle switch on the dash. The negative wires are also wired together and ground right behind the driver's side headlamp on the chassis, just below the fusebox. The toggle switch is ground inside the cabin under the dash and powered by the fusebox under the glove compartment. 16 gauge wire used throughout the installation.

Any answers/ideas would be greatly appreciated!

i would definitely use the same gague wire consistently through out the project! thats prolly ur problem, more current is running to one and not the other (doh)

Thanks for the replies guys!

I really didn't think the gauge thickness would make much of a difference because there is 16 gauge wire supplying the power from the toggle switch down the left (driver's) side of the car to the left side headlamps, then continuing on across to the other side of the car to the right side headlamps--Same gauge wire (16 gauge) supplying the power to BOTH sides! Just a little longer distance from the source to the right side, that's all.

If you still think that the gauge thickness is the problem, please, let me know! I was thinking it might be a faulty ballast...

faulty ballast could be an issue too ... whatever is easier for you change it out and see if it works.

Fixed it!

Went to troubleshoot my Angel Eye problem today. Thought I'd take the advice of Dabears 2K (whom I bought the Angel Eyes from) and swap the ballasts and see if that changed anything.

Well, I took the bumper cover off and removed the right headlight and found one of the wires in the "Y-connect" (joint connection between the low-beam and high-beam angel eyes) had fallen out of it's pin terminal. I twisted the bare end of the wire tight, fit it in where it had fallen out, stuck a TINY screwdriver in the hole to crimp it shut and taped it up real good.

Walla! Problem solved!! Woo Hoo! Looks great now!

Thanks for everyone's advice. Sorry I didn't catch the wire that had fallen out of the Y-connector sooner! Didn't expect it to be so poorly assembled!
