i was hoping to see you show up sat!!!! oh well....
Pauter Rods ,Arias pistons...Speed circuit built the block for me and did a fantastic Job. Not one imperfection.
it's kinda a personal choice, but i think it would be okay!I'll be posting a full spread of pics sunday morning dont you worry.
so i have 3 gauge A piller. Boost, EGT, Wideband
Anyone think it would look to much like cockpit if i put 2 guages under the radio as well. water temp and fuel pressure...something along those lines.
I'm kinda torn if i want to do it or not.
I just got my J&S gauge, that's what I put in the one on the right and boost on the left. I am going to do 3 in the radio pocket and move my PLX wideband somewhere else?
I will be avoiding the a-pillar myself but under the radio wouldn't be visible to everyone at least!
This may be another option. I just added a second pod and mastered my bondo skills setting in the one on the right. There used to be a vendor making them a long time ago.
Re: oil issue/engine break in.
This is what I always recommend:
Put in whatever cheap oil you can find when the engine goes in. Start the car, let it idle for 20 mins, change the oil and filter.
Go drive the car for 25 miles. Don't beat on it, but don't drive it like a pansy. Give it some half throttle pulls 80% of the way to redline.
Change your oil again.
At this point, you can run whatever oil you want (synthetic, etc), however, I always recommend you run a quart of shell rotella T due to it's high mineral content. Alternately, you can use a high quality class 4 oil that has a HIGH mineral content such as Neo oil.
Long story short, the dino oils aren't as slick and will help the rings wear in during the first few miles, but it's not the end of the world either way. Keep in mind that many cars (vettes, evos, etc) come with Mobil 1 (a synthetic) from the factory.
Oil pressure is a nice gauge to have too
