Okay I got everything installed today but I have no power to the amp when I turn the car on, Also while I was installing my car alarm would go off for no apparent reason whenever the + Terminal touched the battery. Whats the problem with the amp?

Ok, guys I now have the amps and subs working but heres the problem, the subs sound muffled and don't put out much bass at all. What could be the problem? Could it be the box?
The subs are
2 10" Pheonix Gold Octane R10's
Powered by pheonix gold Octane R5 amp

Please tell me soon!

What do you mean how is it hooked up?

I have the power wire going from the amp into a distribution block as well as the ground, the power wire is running to the Battery with a fuse holder, the trigger wire is running from the head unit. And the subs are running into the amp

if everything is working, and you can feel the subs trying to work...then its usually the rca's are mixed up....try switching the plugs on the amp and see if that works

Check to see if one of the subs is wired out of phase, meaning that the positive and negative are backwards. This will cause the subs to move opposite of each other and give you a muffled sound with little bass response.

If there is a "high/low" pass filter on the amp, make sure it is set to "low", not "off" or "high". Otherwise your subs are trying to produce notes that the mids and tweeters produce because they are getting higher frequencies than they should.

Ok, when I take one of the RCA's out the one sub works really well but when I put both in they go back to being muffled that is why I think it is the sub box ( custom built )

then you probably have the phases screwed up. flip the +/- on one of the subs and see if that helps. and check the settings on the amp too. it shouldn't be the box, i've screwed up boxes so much dude. If you screw up a box it will not sound muffled, instead it will have a weird and awkward thump at the end of a hit.

cool thanks, now you think it's the speaker wire running from the subs to the amp where should I switch it at the amp or on the sub itself
