Alright so I am going to start off by saying that ive lived here in the USA most of my life but I was born in Venezuela. And in the past two years have been trying to get my citizeship, its not that I couldnt its that there was a major post poning(sp go to hell) of dates. So yesterday I finally had my interview and man was I nervous. Basically they ask you a bunch of questions about your life and history and then they quiz you on US history. They ask you 10 random question and then have you write a sentence after you pass the his quiz. Anyways I passed with flying colors and I went out to dinner with friends and celebrated and ended the night with a poker game at my friends house. It was an awesome night and I am glad to be an American so far...haha, I was a resident before. And I just thought id throw this out there.

Thats awesome news man. Im actually in the process right now of trying to get two Brazilian guys that work with me their papers. We are going to do it through the company, we got one guy his papers years ago the same way.

Congrats! (thumb)

thanks. its rather interesting cause they ask you all these questions and s***....they asked me if i would bear arms for my country and stuff...

the thing that happened with me is idk...honestly i dont. They should not take more then a year in the total process so you guys might have to follow up and makes some calls like i didn. I had to push back the interview date once. And then they sent me another date and shortly after they canceled it and had no word back for a many months. I had to call them and be like "yeah ive not heard anything yet my whole family has had interviews whats the deal here?" And then I had to start over again by getting re-finger printed. Overall it was pretty chill and i am an american now haha.

congrats. i got my citizenship in 2001, i know the feeling. maybe i'll vote for the first time when 2 decent presidents run against each other, instead of dumb vs dumber like in 04

so yeah i had to agree to bear arms for our country...and that i agree and stand by all the laws in the constitution. and yeah

its ridiculous that they ask you questions about U.S. history. i bet a lot of kids that were born in america probably couldn't answer them correctly... congrats

congrats. My parents got citizenship due to the fact that my grandfather(who worked on boats) was stationed here in america during ww2 for a few years and therefor my family got approved. yeah, I also lived here most my life but will be moving back to Portugal in the summer. I will miss my friends and all, but will be way more happier in Portugal.
