Aluminum Block Longevity

I recently leased a 2008 Grand Touring CX9 and at the present time I would consider purchasing the vehicle after the lease is complete. However, after numerous internet searches, it appears that the Duratec 3.7 engine is advertised as an all aluminum block. Does any one know if the engine block is all aluminum or does have cast iron sleeves? If the block of the engine is truly all aluminum without any cylinder sleeves, would there be a longevity concern with this engine?

I have never heard of an aluminum Block that is not sleeved.
Aluminum is soft and would not hold up well if it was not sleeved.
Its mainly used For its weight Saving and heat dissipation Capabilities. And its structurally strong and sound..but not against The wear a pston would Produce.

You're correct. It took a while to find it, but I did find this article that states the engine has cast iron liners. This article is about the 3.5 V6 but the same would be true of the 3.7 as well since they're the same engine family.
