alternator

ive been reading on here from a few people about the alternator for the 3 being weak and not being able to fully support the car. headlights dimming etc etc. i was just wondering if anyone had any idea what the specs for a stock alternator is? and do they have alternators that are more powerful that you can replace it with? this is for a 04 mazda3 s 2.3L.

For 2008 models the alternator rated output is 90 amps. I don't have the data for a 2004but I would think it's the same. That should be adequate for normal factory equipment. The alternator output for turbo engines is 110 amps.
