Alternator Questions

here's the email back from the RPM store about their HO alternator

Iraggi actually uses the stock casing. They simply rebuild the internal portion of the alternator so that it outputs more amperage. The ECU controls the voltage, which is the same regardless of the output. Using one of these alternators will not fry anything.

We could offer you a 5% discount on the alternator if you would display our decals on your vehicle, but I'll need more information to get you a proper quote on it's cost.

I need to know the year, make, and model of the vehicle, and for a shipping quote, I need to know where you are located.

Thanks!

I may have to jump on this as my system seems to be power thirsty lately... Let us know if you decide to do this what you think of it

I wonder if this would really work. I thought id read here before that the stock alt couldnt be rewound and work with ecu. If anyone tries this and it works plz post some results.

Not faster, but possibly louder!

And 5%. wow. thats not a lot off for somthing that costs over $500.

you could install an alternator from an 04 up rx-8. same alternator, swap pulleys, 100amp instead of 80amp. Have done it before and seems to help with the weak charging system on the proteges
