Alpine DVD install pics.

Hey, I was wondering if anyone has Pics of the Alpine IVA-W205, Double Din DVD player in a protege. I`m wanting to see how my install compares. To see if I`ve done it correctly or not. Mine seems to stick out a bit. (dunno)

I have an Alpine IVA-W505 which while not exactly the same thing it has the same dimensions.

Mine sits happily in the double DIN opening in my mp3 protruding roughly 1/4" past the supplied trim ring, which itself is flush (back to front) with the mounting bracket. Very clean looking install. One thing you might check ( I had problems with this as well at first ) is that with all the wiring that the alpine has int he back of it it was bunching up for me and preventing the h-unit from sliding all the way back.

K kool thanks for tha posts I'll take a look tomorrow and see if i can tuck the harness more outa the way

I have the W205 in my MSP. It does stick out a little bit from where the stock head unit sat. I can send you some pics if you want. I would also agree with RyanJayG, it was a little tough to get all the wires out of the way.

Did you get the PAC TR-7 for video bypass on yours?

if you got pic's ppl then post the on the thread too, I'm looking for a new head unit since mine doesn't show anymore anything but it still plays.

Here is my Alpine IVA-W205 from the front. I also got the B200 Blackbird 2 for navigation. I love the unit as a whole, but the Blackbird is piss poor for navigation, no features (text to speech, user updatability) and bluetooth is garbage.

As for you sb-msp, I attached some side images of the unit. It does stick out a little on the top and bottom, but it is still flush in the middle. The pictures explain it all. I also got the PAC Audio TR-7 switching module to bypass the video. Works like a charm.

Hey cool guys, I think I got it now. The harness was in the way. It looks pretty much identical to "haveahotcarl" now. Thx for getting the pics up. I dont have the TR-7, but plan to get one off of ebay or somethin. I don't wanna install any switches. I've been pretty happy with the unit, I like being able to control my Ipod From it. Now I dont need my CD's hangin out in my car.
