almost death at idle

I had the exact same problem where idles were dropping to 200-300 for past couple of days. Check engine light eventually came on, and Mazda informed me that this is all caused by a faulty EGR valve. Due to backorder I have to wait a couple of days for the replacement part, but will keep everyone posted if this is infact solved the problem

was that under warantee, someone else said no....but just wondering in your case?

Hey guys, well i took it to the dealership, don't think they said anything about the idling bit.....but i did have a crack in my turbo -- sounds like a HUGE problem, but it's not that bad....just loss in pressure -- and that caused some funny sounds (the chirp/whistle) and MAY have caused the idle to dip down low because not enough air was flowing into the engine i would guess....I'll see how goes, and let ya'll know
