Let me know what you guys think of this. I'm in the market looking for a used speed3 and I think I found one. The reason I'm looking used is because I love the sunlight silver color and now that the new mid year refresh is effective I can't find any new ones that aren't already sold. I just found a used 2007 GT at a carmax location in Los Angeles. I am having the car transferred down to San Diego this week so I can check it out. The speed has only 7300 miles on it and includes navigation for $21,988. Has anyone done business with carmax before to know how well of pricing they offer on their vehicles? This sounds like a great deal but feel free to let me know your opinions. I know we had some talk earlier about being weary of used speed's since they might have been abused before being traded-in. Is there any signs or questions I should be asking or looking for once the speed arrives in san diego?

Carmax is a pretty good company, and I would say that thats an okay price, especially since it has navigation. It would probably cost around 4k or so more for a new one with nav. Does it have any other options? I would look around to see if its modded at all, and also I would try to make sure the warranty from Mazda is stil in tact. I know theyve gone void warranty crazy a little bit lately.

i would say no, personally, im sitting on a deal right now for $22,000 o.t.d. for a brand new, never driven 2008.5 gt (alacantra, bose, HID's...)
although i've heard its hard to get a hold of these out in california, and if you do, the prices are higher. i could be wrong..

Carmax offers an extended warranty but that costs extra. They do have 30 day money back guarantee though if it turns out I don't like it. I didn't plan on getting nav in the first place but it's rare that a sunlight silver GT pops up in this area. I figure for the extra grand I now have a functional nav that I could eventually turn into a dvd player!
lol! I get the same feeling, I would feel dirty if I bought a car from there.
Hey man, either way you are still rolling in a Speed3, so I wouldnt care WHERE you got it from - point is, it kicks ass. I dont know anything about CarMax or their warranty plans, but I know that I love my car and that I paid 24K for GT without Nav, so you are looking at a decent deal. Still, try to see if they can knock off another grand or more. 
Darn I was hoping to get them to drop it like 1k or something. It's still a great deal so I'm still excited. I was going to try and sell them by saying that I would get their extended service plan if they would drop the price a little. I haven't seen the car yet so I'm hoping it runs great. Did you get their extended warranty ii9ix3?

I am no longer almost a speed3 owner! My day has finally come and I am quite impressed with the speed. You guys weren't kidding on how much the test drive blows you away. Just like iii9ix3 said carmax doesn't haggle but 21988 is still an amazing price. Plus I got the extended warranty so I'm covered up to 110k miles. The car is so new that it still had the plastic on the cupholders in the backseat. So I'm guessing the owner never had any passengers. Plus I sold my current car private party the same day I bought the car so I had a good deposit to lower my payments. Day one of owning the speed and hundred more days to come!
