Mazdaspeed3
50% of websites I've seen say that the MazdaSpeed6 comes in AWD, and 50% say was supposed to in 2008 but they canceled production.....

Not to sound like an idiot, but did the 2006 or 2007 Speed6 come in AWD???? I just need some sort of closure....

Mazdaspeed cars are always limited production. So 'canceled' really isn't accurate. It was planned that way from the start.

Which is dumb cause to me, (no offense to anyone on here) they always seem to be there flagship, stand out from the crowd cars. I mean the Mazda 3 is an amazing car for it's class and the styling is probably one of the best designs ever for a car in that class, same deal with the 6. But the Mazdaspeed cars whether it be the protoge, 3 or 6 were always the ones that got my really excited at the car shows. Much more so then the RX-8.

Some people are just predisposed to sport sedans over sport coupes. My first brand new car was a Scion tC. It was a great car, but it never really grabbed me, you know? I love my RX-7 because it turns heads and gets respect from those "in the know". It's also damn fun to drive.

...But the MS6 really grabs me. It reminds me of the SHO that I used to have. It's fast, it's practical, and it makes for a great Q-ship. (thumb)

the issue is that they don't sell anywhere near as well. look at the ms6, in 2006 there were approximatly 5,000 made (not really sure on the exact number, but 5,000 is the general consensu). at the beginning of 2007 there were TONS available on dealer lots, with a rebate of $3750 (or something like that). Mazda produced a total of 139,848 Mazda6s in 2006. so, the MS6 was 3.5% of the Mazda6 sales

That's the problem with niche cars. Sometimes you find a sweet spot in the market like the Miata did. Some times you don't.

The purpose of the speed6 was for marketing and boosting the 6 sales before the end of its current design.

Whatever The Reasons May Be

The very limited nature of the MS6 is really what sets it apart.... it's almost exclusive. I mean seriously, how many EVO's and STI's do you see runnin around???

Plus it's the people that really know that give the respect to the Speeds of any type.

True dat.

Yeah, Love when Cobalts and RSX's pull up and wanna show off. You can tell they don't know what they're getting themselves into

lol lol.........love your post i cant wait to get my hands on the steering wheel of the speed6.........i loved to see those cars just rev and get all excited not knowing what a turbocharged inline 4 engine is hiding beneath

Oh yeah...they have no idea. It's amazing the people that toute themselves as 'car guys' have no idea what the 'Speed' carries with it. I've had people challange me and 'inform' me that Mazda never made a turbo 6. Therefore I was lying and/ or didn't know my car's cababilites..... silly rabbit.

Haven't seen another Speed 6 or Speed 3 in about two months now....and that's the way I like it!

Well rare here in Minneapolis, they are not. In the "twin cities" metro area there are 4 Mazda dealerships BIG ONES, and 3-4 Subie/mitsu dealers each.

I see a few MS6's every week, without fail. Less MS3's, and Mazdaspeed Proteges used to be fairly common, but over the years they kind of disappeared. Never see 'em any more.

It's funny, like the Proteges got sold to the surrounding areas over the years. Probly be the same with the MS6's.

I NEVER see Evo's here. And an Evo9? Never see them, hardly ever ever. STI's are a little more common, but MS6's are very common.

However, there are WRX's all over the place, everyone and their mom has one here.

wow common ms6??? must be ms6 heaven there........ya we have ms3 once in while....then again houston is like 100 miles wide and 70 miles long

I see a unfimiliar MS6 maybe once every month or two. Not counting when I'm at the Mazda dealership. Even then I've only one or two at a time.

I say unfimilar because theres two MS6 in my neighborhood so I do seem them once or twice every two weeks or so. Still very sparse.

No Black Cherry ones though!
