All the buttons on the stock head unit arent working, please help

i had my system installed and it didnt work when i got home. i found out the REM wire was not in good enough behind the head unit so i took it apart and tried to get it in better. while takin it out it made a spark up against the back of the head unit (i dont know if that would make a difference in my problem). but after that i put it all back together and all of the buttons on my head unit stopped working, all of them except for the eject button. the head unit still powers on but i cant listen to any music because everything else doesnt work. Also the head unit will keep resetting itself while driving and starts like i turned it on but buttons never work. please help me out i dont know what the problem could be and all my fuses aare all fine.

If the fuses are all good, and the HU is powering on, and then resets itself for no reason. I would guess that your headunit is damaged. Have you tried removing the negative battery cable for 10 minutes or so, and then reconnecting it ?

no i havent, thanks ill try that and see what happens. when i was disconnecting the REM from the back of the head unit i accidentily touched it to the back of the head unit causing sparks, i dont know if that could of damaged it but its the only thing i can think of that may have...

sounds like you shorted the power lead to the radio chassis. If no fuses are blown, then your radio is most likely done.
