Well, lets start with the obvious, HESISTATION! And I am now getting very annoyed by the CLUNK from the rear sway bar bushings. Also the CREAK from the front suspension.

I have the same problems: hesitation, clunk (both problems warrantied and should be fixed on the 31st with a 'flash' and new bushings)...but the front suspension 'creak' is something new that started now that it has been getting cold (not sure why) I also have repeated problems with coolant leaking from the coolant line entering the turbo. (pressure problem??)

Warped and EXTREMELY RUSTY rotors @ all four corners

The lack of support for repairs from NON SPEED dealers!
I think any dealer should be able to work on the speed regardless of the problem.My nearest SPEED dealer is 90 miles away!I don't have the time to go that far for constantly needed repairs!
Ok ,I think that does it for me!

Oh and a bad motor already replaced and a damn dealer that won't fix the scratch's they put in the engine bay!

-faster at partial throttle than wide open throttle

Thats all I can think of right now, I've tried to put these things behind me, so there may be more problems I just ignore. With the stereo, wtf, sub sounded blown, then deck crapped out, I reset it, and everything sounded aight again. I don't **** with the setting, I put it on flat, or rock, and the NF level is always at 0, or +2.

Edit* I heard about the rattle in the back, so I let someone else drive while I was in the back seat. It was kinda hard to hear over the clunk and squeky suspension, but it is definatly there.

Hesitation - (Got flashed)
Creak - (Front struts, especially when cold)
Clunk - (Rear)
Alarm Module- (Faulty replaced once)
2003.5 Front and Rear lip on bumpers - (cheap double sided tape, heat from exhaust causing rear lip to come off)

Oil leak - replaced turbo
rear clunk
front squeek
front left rattle
rust, rust, and more rust on the rotors
cracked exhaust
radio flips out and dies
radio overheats and stops
shift knob falling apart after 13xxx miles
mis aligned from dealer/manu
headlights not aimed properly by dealer/manu
hesitation

(will edit as I recall what other trips to the dealer were for considering I've been on average 2 times/month since owning)

clunk (took to dealer twice and the still cant hear it its been clunkin for a year now and they will not fix it!)

fried headunit
IC pipe blown
exhaust between cats split.
hessation before flash
reverse sometimes does not engage fully

Stumbling during accelaration - (Dealer said it was flashed)

Clunk - (Will try to get fixed this week)

Leaky pipes, Boost won't hold for more than .5 sec

Annoying noise coming from left front when turning right "ding,
ding n ling" Dealer tried twice to fix will try again this week. I just avoid turning right by turning left twice. I guess that's why I bought this car so I can take more corners.

Different rattles in interior, but can't pinpoint yet.

Some weird spots on the Exhaust Manifold cover, burn't anifreeze??
That's about it so far. Had the car for 3 months now.

Coolent smell
bushing in the rear sawy bar
bogs out when you accelerate to fast
turbo oil leak , has been fixed once and now it needs a new fitting
rust all over the rotor from day one
woofer cracks
fuel smell @ idle
front wheel hop with a spin
refuses to go into reverse , I have to play with it
(protest)
I have never had this many problems with any of the used cars I have ever bought !

1: Front Suspension Creak (when cold)

2) Clunk (getting really worst) -- suppose to replace whole sway bar and bushing this week

3) Hestiation at full throttle @ around 3500


4) Front Driver and Passenger seats slider not align properly (the seat will rock and click to the right pin when you hard brake after you adjust the seat.... doesn't matter how many times you rock the seat when you adjust it)


5) Driver seat seat belt pretensioner rattles


6) Car die on me several times (stall out) on a smooth surface road at 3rd gear shifting to 2nd gear at around 3000 rpm when clutch disengage


7) going uphill on 3rd gear slowing down and shift to 2nd, rpm will drop to 300-400 rpm (about to stall) then go up to 700 rpm (happens when you disengage the clutch and before throttle)


8) Water rushing through Rad. pipes noise when approaching a stop (freaking loud esp during summer)

9) rotor rust out, brake sqeaks

that's about it... I think.... for now :)

I've been waiting for a thead like this...

Current issues as of 12.15.03 (Have not been to dealership yet regarding these):
1) CEL light on (1st Time - "IAT Sensor 1 Voltage Reading Low" code x2.)
2) Battery light on (1st Time - Cannot purposely replicate, however it happens every time I drive the car. Randomly blinks on and off and will occasionally stay lit for a period of time.)
3) Replace headunit (3rd Time - Headunit will not fully eject CDs and will lock up randomly in eject position.)
4) Coolant leak (2nd Time - Didn't ask about it last time.)
5) Car would not start (4th Time - Had to have car jump started after a ~30 minute drive with it being off for less than 3 minutes.)
6) Swaybar bushings. (2nd Time)

11.26.03:
1) Replace CV axle (2nd Time - Busted; Replaced)
2) Replace headunit (2nd Time - Locking up problem; Replaced)
3) Replace steering wheel (1st Time - Black finish wearing off; Replaced)
4) Burning rubber smell (1st Time - Coming through A/C vents, even with A/C disengaged. Only smells when car is idling.; Nothing found.)
5) Replace window trim (2nd Time - Different location than the other time, however.; Ordered)
6) Grease front suspension (1st Time - Suspension noise when it's cold.; Forgot to ask.)
7) Coolant leak (2nd Time - Didn't ask about it.)
8) Small oil leak (1st Time; Nothing found.)
9) Replace cigarette lighter (2nd Time - Had a short in it; Replaced.)

10.??.03:
1) Sway bar bushings. (1st Time - Clunk!; Replaced.)
08.??.03:
1) Car would not start (3rd Time - Had to have car jumped.; Alternator checked okay/nothing found. Replaced battery.)

07.23.03:
1) CV axle went out. (1st Time - Replaced.)
2) Car would not start. (2nd Time - Had to be jumped.; Replaced battery.)

07.21.03:
1) A/C compressor started making hissing noise. (1st Time - Replaced only to have noise come back again.)

06.24.03:
1) Clutch went out. (1st Time - Replaced after fight with dealership.)

Unknown dates:
1) Brakes grind at low speed, even when going straight (Nothing found. "It's a characteristic of the car.")
2) Pulls left during braking most of the time (Nothing found. "It's a characteristic of the car.")
3) Pulls right also during braking at other times (Nothing found. "It's a characteristic of the car.")
4) Notchy shifter (Often VERY difficult to get into first from neutral, if not impossible for a while.; Nothing found. "It's a characteristic of the car.")
5) Hesitation (Somewhat "Fixed" with ECU flash.)
6) Broken intercooler pipe (Joints seem to be glued together. Very easy to break while driving.; Fixed.)
7) Coolant boiling over (Boiled over and out of the resevoir when the car was turned off.; Nothing found.)
8) Squeaky clutch (Fixed for a short period of time.)
9) Radio trim ring squeaking (Fixed and has started again.)
10) Scratches all over the radio's trim ring after old dealership "fixed" the squeak. (Replaced after fight with service manager.)
11) Subwoofer blew (Replaced but no longer using.)
12) Stock amp popping fuses (Even with NF level of -05. I had to be sure to have a box of 15amp fuses in the car at all times.)
13) Stock amp overheating (Even with only the stock sub hooked up.)
14) New (2003.5 model) Kenwood amp/sub enclosure rattles when going over bumps ("Fixed" only to come back again.)
15) Kenwood headunit does not remember previous settings sometimes (I've practically memorized the menu's of it from setting it up so many times.; Even after new deck, this is still a problem.)
16) Antenna connector on rear window has come off of the glass and is just hanging there (Fixed myself.)
17) Black window trim on rear passenger door is bubbling up (Never fixed as I didn't go back to that dealership after clutch issue.)
18) Cigarette lighter coming out of the socket ("Fixed")
19) Alarm left parking lights on after car was off & armed ("Fixed" twice. I'm now on my third brain.)
20) Squeaky driver seat (Fixed myself.)
21) Squeaky seatbelt fastener (Fixed myself.)
22) Airbox intake duct kept falling off and would not stay connected to the airbox.(Finally lost somewhere on a road; no longer needed.)
23) Glovebox plastic slightly discolored above handle (No big deal but something I didn't like.)
24) White "mold" appeared inside of headlight lens over directional (amber) lens (Tried to clean it off when removing amber lenses but to no avail.)
25) Thin ass paint that chips if a mosquito flys near it (Nice.)
26) Coolant leak (Nothing found, but there was dried up coolant all over the bottom of the bay and on some piping.)
27) Tires wear out WAY too fast and do not provide decent grip in rain (I can deal with that.)
28) Hard water deposits from the docks which have still not come off (Yup, they're still there, just not as bad.)
29) Weather stripping around left sidemarker became warped and was letting water behind the light (Mentioned to first dealer but it was never fixed.)
30) Buckling while at low speed (1st Time - Pushing the clutch in and releasing again stops it.; Nothing found.)
31) NO AFTERMARKET SUPPORT FROM MAZDA, WHETHER IT BE THEIR OWN LINE OF "MAZDASPEED" EQUIPMENT OR THIRD PARTY.

-Rough idle when starting hot (occasional)
-Hesitation "fixed" with flash
-New hiccup at 4000rpm after Flash
-Rear sway bar clunk (yet to return with E series bushing)
-Front suspension creak during cold weather
-Cigarette lighter socket pulls out of dash (tab breaks)
-Alarm module freaked out (parking lights would stay on)
-Very jerky throttle response in stop-and-go traffic (makes the whole car lurch)
-Mystery lurch on 2-3 shift (occasional) feels like hitting a wall, not fuel cut
