ALL 2010 Mazda3 Stuff Goes Here

The hood scoop makes me think more Dodge Neon than Subaru. I still think the car will look sweet. It will definitely be on my list in 2010 when I trade in my Speed.

What do I think of the new front fascia of the new mazda3 and possibly the new MS3?

(thumb) I would like to personally thank the designers for such a happy look on a car because it means MY current MS3 still looks better. You see, newer model cars tend to look better than the outgoing model, which usually makes me want to trade in my car for that new look. However, in this case the outgoing model looks WAY better in my humble opinion. Thanks MAZDA!(wiggle)

The new model is definitely growing on me. I can imagine the speed3 will look much more aggressive than before.

For those that dont know, that front end gives the mazda3 the lowest drag coefficient at .29 in its class. So it does serve a purpose.

Hopefully it doesn't look like s***, the new mazda6 looks like a turd. Don't know what they were thinking. Hopefully the new mazdaspeed3 doesn't look like one either

I tried to fight it but I agree with you. The new 6 is a bulbous mess. People say the old 6 looked generic but I thought (especially in sport trim) that it looked like a proper athletic sport sedan. The new 6 is a bulbous behemoth with a great motor.

The new 3 looks better thus far but I'll have to see one in the skin.

this is the emailed newsletter i just got tonight, don't know if anyone else received this

sooo jealous of push button start, bi-xenon, information display, dual exhaust, trunk release on keyfob, side turn signal moved to mirror

Yeah, I checked out the website too.
Like the dual exhaust and mirror mounted turn signal.
NOT a fan of the front end or the colour. I hope the 2010 Mazdaspeed has a more aggressive front end treatment.

I like the car. But, I do not like the dual exhaust...they have no performance value whatsoever and add weight unnecessarily. A four cylinder engine just does not need dual exhaust.

of course 4-cyl engines don't need a dual exhaust, but it gives it a more aggressive and sporty look, and gives the back end more asymmetric appeal.

refer to the 5.7gto, dumb gm had true dual exhaust on it, but put both tail pipes out the same side. wtf was that about?

You mean it gives it a more fake look. I like the asymmetrical-functional look...

I have a real issue with the more "riced" look that mazda seems to be going in with the new 3speed. Part of the appeal of my 08' is its sleeper look and ability to help me talk out of tickets if and when it happens. Some of these parts may be functional at highway (70+) speed but if they didnt include them on the current model then its obvious that they are not nessary for the car. The hood scoop, larger wing, and dual exhaust screams evo/sti hooligan class of car to the any non enthausist.

Im also going to have an issue if they bump up power while retaining the FWD layout. Anything really 300+ makes little sence in this drivetrain from all the problems inherent in FWD. There are solutions like a swaybar settup and adjustable coilovers etc. but they are only stop gaps for an economy based drivetrain.

If the car is significantly better but they try to "jazz" it up more then im going to have to go the evo/sti smart owner route and order the base trunk and wing from the dealer and put them on my car. The new car looks nice but it just feels...like they are trying to hard to appeal to all the bro's out there. :/

Edit: ill have to get a single exhause pipe as well...duals on a car with a single exhaust bank is simply retarded no matter what anyone says. Its just wrong...and stupid :/

im gonna call bs on simply talking your way out of tickets cuz of your car. and the thing that cops first notice anyway (minus the fact that their radar doesn't care what you're in) is something with bright colors that stands out, ie red or yellow.

i don't see how 300hp is that bad on a fwd layout. they allready had the insight to limit boost where wheel spin would be most prevalent, and i know more power would help out in higher speed applications like passing or highway merging when the tires wouldn't break free

and in order to go from dual to single exhaust you would have to also pay out for a new bumper, or else you'd look stupid with a gap on one side where another exhaust pipe used to be

I should of posted this but my car is black, not bright red or yellow again for the sleeper aspect. I can think of at least three situtations where talking to the cop with this car has gotten me either out of tickets or out of jail with an impounded car. Or conversly racing a car and having the more "done up" car pulled over and the cop telling me to leave, no ticket no warning.

Useable +300 wheel horsepower in a fwd car is counterintutive. Even with the boost limiting systemand lsd torque distribution in the 3 i still get torque steer and wheel hop comming off the line in the car, i can only imagine what more power will do. On the highway it makes more sence, i will give you that although i have never had any problems merging or passing in either fifth or sixth gears if thats what your justification is.

Lastly, honestly if you think having a twin tail pipe is better on a single exhaust bank car then having a little dip in the bumper then its just a matter of taste. I would rather be mechanically correct then worry about the "stylez of my ridez". Its like our narrow 18 inch wheels, they fill out the wheel well but a conventional 17 inch wheel would increase contact patch with the road giving it better traction and probably a better ride. :/

Looks nice. Doesn't make me jealous though, which I'm selfishly glad about. I like it inside and out, but again, doesn't knock me out in style over what I have. I'm sure if they add some power to the Speed3 version, I will be a tad jealous, but even then, unless they work on getting that power to the ground better, I won't be knocked over about it.

its soooo uh uh uhhhhggglllllyyyyy!!!! **crying**

dual exhayst.....looks good...no function

styling....better aerodynamics...looks like my mexican dinner turd

hood scoop....cools intercooler (no reason for it....why?).....theyve already managed that with the hidden cooling ducts.

im so sad......so so sad. i love my speed 3 so much more next year. lol.

why is it gotta be a mexican dinner turd? How come it can't be an australian or european, or asian, or canadian turd?
