Hello everyone! I bought a used Mazdsaspeed3 about 3 months ago. I found that this car had some body work done (Right Fender, Right Door, Hood and Bumper Cover) I think the damage was minimal but each part above was painted. I can tell they had the hood off of the car. I can tell this by the marks on the Bolt Heads.
My problem is that whomever performed this body work did not align the hood properly. There is a quarter inch gap between the fender and the hood on the right side of the car and hardly any gap on the left side. IT looks silly like this.
The service manual states "To Align the hood, first remove the Bumper Cover and Fenders!" Well, for those that know, this is alot of work by itself.
Is there maybe a special tool to reach those hood bolts which are somewhat under the fender. You can see the bolts but cannot get to them with a standard open wrench.
Why does the manual just say "Loosen the bolts where they attach to the hood and make adjustments there?"
If you remove the fenders how would you know if the hood is aligned? Being there are no fenders on the car there would be nothing to align it to?
Anybody know an easier way?
