alarm to sensitive

i have had the problem with the alarm going off too easy if my dad starts his truck or a loud car goes by it goes crazy just wandering if anyone else has the problem or what its kinda annoying when i goto the mall and it goes off b4 i get inside lol

Also was it professionally installed or just one you installed yourself? I had a Clifford Solaris Alarm/Car Starter before and that thing was way too sensitive. Brought in back into the dealer and they made it less sensitive to vibrations as well as to the dreaded Harley.

I think he is talking about the factory alarm, right?
If so then mine was the same way. I took it down to my dealer and he adjusted a set screw by the fuse box, you can do it yourself, I just didn't know where it was.
If you look by the dead pedal, right by the fuse box on the inside of the car, there should be a screw you can turn to make it more or less sensitive.
