Akaveli's 2006 Mz3 Picture/Build Thread 4.3.09 Update, Need Track Advice...P3 ;)

Well yesterday I finally got around to getting my Medieval Lightweight ALT & WP installed. I was able to get a family mechanic to install these for $40 Woohoo!! These pulleys are the SAME size as the stock pulleys just extremely light. After the install right away I could feel the difference in throttle response and in acceleration. Next week hopefully I can throw the car on the dyno and get some actual numbers.

The stock waterpump and alternator pulley are actually heavy compared to the light weight pulleys. Its a night and day difference between the two.

Very cool. Even though a lot of people are all ga-ga over the MS3, I still like the normal 3 hatch.

real nice job man! I also (even owning a speed now) still love the standard 3. I never would have thought pullies made that big of a difference until I started replacing them in my Honda days. It really makes a big difference! Keep it up man, you are on the right track. Lets see some interior pics with those guages!

Yea man, the difference is really noticable. I am more then satisfied with these pullies. Interior pics are on the way. :)


Honestly I'm not interested in boosting my 3 at the moment. I am satisfied with my car the way it is. Maybe in the future i'll consider boosting it but not now.;)

Well tonight was an interesting night. I went to Virginia Motorsports Park and hit the drag strip up. Now this was the FIRST time I ever drag at a track before. My best time was 15.8. My worst was 17.7. Each run something different happen. I missed 3rd, I missed 4th, I couldn't get traction and my tires kept spinning at the start for like 2 seconds. :x OMG!

I need some advice from the guys/gals who drag race. I think its a lil obvious I can't launch for sh!tz. At the start on several runs I kept spinning tires and couldn't get no traction at all. I rev it up to 5k or 6k and then go. Am I reving it high or should I try reving it to 3k or 4?? I tried to upload a pic of my slips but they were blurry. I'll give it another shot later.
