airride universal bags in place of springs on bc coils??

so im not learned up on the whole air ride situation yet and i have some questions. i know it takes alot of components for a functional airride system to work like the compressor, management, wiring and all of that but i was wondering. if i could get ahold of all of the pieces to an airride setup without the actual struts would i be able to slip the universal bellow sleeves over my bc coils in place of the springs? in my head it all checks out but then again i dont really know how it all works
