My Air Recirculation button is always GREEN. I press the button and it's like it will not turn off? Anyone else have this issue? It is winter here in MN? Doesn't seem to shut off with AC turned on either.
:wtf:

Normally not, I was just checking. It might be the micro switchin the console that would tell the unit when it was on floor or defrost...

Not sure, but I think I was agreeing with you. :).

But, I do think I was wrong about the AC preventing a switch between recirculating and "fresh" air.

Ok, what's happening here is that you have it on "vent" (outside air coming into the cabin) if the light is green. It will be orange-red if you have it on "re-circulate." The button will lock on vent anytime you have the AC direction controls set to any type of defrost. Try turning the direction control to something that doesn't have the "vent" symbol on it, and see if you can get it to "recirculate" (button color orange-red ). If you still have the same problem...then you have a problem!

Hope this helps!

Also I think the AC comes on automatically if you have the knob on defrost or floor and the temp setting on cool. (takes the moisture out of the air) however, the a/c light does not come on

Thanks for your help everyone. I will test with it. Change to all different settings. It's been 10-15 degrees below zero in MN. Not doing much but staying inside. Thanks AGAIN!

Sorry to bump this thread, but it's somewhat related to my issue. For some reason my vent control knob is having two problems.

1. It requires some coaxing to go into the windshield defrost mode, and most of the time it just stops in between that and defrost + floor.

2. When floor + top is selected, only the floor vents are opened.

Is this something I can fix or check on or would the dealership be better off looking at it?

Oops, also forgot something minor: When I turn my lights on, the backlight for this very knob is faint, and I have to kinda smack the area around it for it to come on fully. Is the bulb dying or perhaps something is loose? Might be related to the above 2, not sure. But anyways, any help you all can provide is certainly appreciated.

There are cables that move all these functions.

Remove the panles on each side and have a look around.

The cables are supposed to be held in place by a sharp item attached to the cable, if it has come off of the mount, it will not move well.

yea it puts it on fresh air if its on defrost or defrost/floor. the A/C compressor comes on as well, you can switch to recirc if its on vent or floor vent etc..
