The selector that allows me to choose whether the air recirculates or i get outside air is stuck. For the entirety that I have owned the car it has been stuck or broken so I don't really know how the selector is supposed to work. Since it is starting to heat up I now want to know how to make it so the AC work as best as possible. So what do I have to do to replace or fix the air intake selector.

It looks like it's pretty involved to get to the Air Intake Actuator.
The cooling unit needs to be removed and the refrigerant needs to be drained.
Check to see if the switch itself is plugged in, especially if the buttons aren't lit.
It could be something simple.
