Air Conditioning Problem

Hi - Can anyone please tell me where to find the low-point recharge point for the air-con on a 2006 Mazda 2. The high-point is clearly visible, but been to 2 Halfords, and neither could find it! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Well it has to be between the evaporator core and the compressor if it uses an expansion valve, and could also be on the other line going into the evaporator core somewhere after the orifice tube if it uses one of those. Depends on the type of system.

Follow the A/C hoses/lines from the compressor back. The high side goes to the condenser first(in the grille) so if the line you're following goes there, go back and follow the other line toward the evaporator core(behind firewall).


I don't know about pre-2011 Mazda2s... But both ports are plainly visible here: by the radiator and by the strut tower in the left of the photo:
