Aftermarket HU and scosche wiring harness

I'm about to install a jvc HU with a scosche wiring harness on my 07 3 but realized that there are more wires on my stereo's stock wiring harness than on the scosche, is this normal, and does anyone know where I can find a walkthrough on how to do this install? thanks

Go to crutchfield.com and enter your information about your car and then look up a wiring harness, it will show you which models are compatible.

I have the wiring harness, but I was just wondering if there are step by step or a video walktrhough on installing them because I'm pretty new to this and never installed an aftermarket stereo before.
