Aftermarket Camera - Fits into the License Plate lights?

I saw these online -- The rear view camera seems to replace the rear License plate light. The title says that it will work with the CX-5, but the "compatible" section doesn't list it. Any ideas if it will actually fit?

Would rather not go the drilling route through sheet metal and the ones that go on the plates themselves look tacky.

Took a holesaw to my almost new CX-5 and installed a Crux camera. Looks OEM and works great. Did not drill sheetmetal, rather the plastic trim that houses the liftgate switch and backup lights.

Why not just get one of the license plate frame cameras?

I have seen them for sale pretty cheap at AdvanceAuto parts too.
