You guys have to check this new muffler out. I just bought one from Midas last weekend and it's sweet.

Horsepower gains are substantial for a muffler and the deep throaty sound is awesome!

I paid $189 for the muffler and $40 for the install.

Now my boss is going to have put on his Mitsubishi Diamonte he liked it so much.

all it is is just a muffler right? no piping or anything? ummm....i'm seriously skeptical about this.....they posted one lousy dyno chart off some methanol powered sprint car? how bout a real car with some dyno results?

you guys are all way too skeptical...

How different can all of these mufflers be?

When you're buying a Flowmaster, Bosal, Borla, etc...you're paying for a name, but getting the same material, technology, etc.

Don't be fooled by big name companies. They've got a lot of moola to throw around for advertising. They're dyno results are just the same as anybody elses. Plus, they never do dynos on our cars anyways with their mufflers, so how do you really know what you're getting until you get it?

HP?

Muflers don't make real HP. Like 1 or 2 HP, Try Some of this...

These are very nice mufflers. They are very commonly used in the Diesel Truck tuning crowd.

the mufflers can be quite different. have you ever seen the inside of a flowmaster? it's extremely restrictive....borla incorporates a "lazy s" internal design. and others use a straight-thru design. it would be nice to see them put a dyno chart up there....from a more streetable car. but if you post a dyno, hey, i'm a believer :)

but like brian said, mufflers are only good for a few hp.

Bryan, Can you take some more pics of the back of the car? A complete picture of the car's rear would be appreciated. I'd like to get an idea of how big the tip is. Also, do you know the model number? Thanks.

I'am skeptical (shrug) I personally have the HKS axle-back and it has been dyno tested in turbomagazine on a Red P5 that's why I bought it so......... Yeah. But it came with piping. This is just a muffler with one of those turbine thingy's big-deal

BTW.. I have the magazine and will scan the article if you don't believe me.

I don't believe it. The shortest most efficient distance between two points is a straight line and the gases don't seem to follow that path in the diagram. You can give me a whole bunch of hulubaloo about it vortexing the air to increase HP and crap like that but if the technology really worked I would ask you why you don't see it on everyone's tuner cars despite it being out for a while.
