Aem F/ic

AEM unit returned from factory re-flash.
Unit is installed, need to brave freezing winds with laptop now to load maps.
Also installed Innovate logworks2 software. Need another serial to USB converter. ugh

good luck man, just take your time with everything.

were you able to tune with it before or no?

can u give us a clear answer of what exactly were your problem? You said it seems having a misfire around 3krpm.
Can you just tune it by yourself or not?

I don't even have the device right now and I already wrote a map for it. .
Why don't you read the manual on how to tune it?

Send me a copy of your map Ill take a look at it.

(poke) did you read his posts?

Reflashed unit is re-installed.
Loaded the map that was causing the misfires before, drove around (hard) with no problems! Recorded a few datalogs.
Need to retune now using WB signal.
Still low on the learning curve for using the AEM and the Innovate softwares. So much info, the logworks2 manual is like 130 pages!

"just read the manual, just read the manual"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(wow)

glad to hear its working!

Let's see if this works.

Here's a link to my log files from yesterday:
(3 .txt and 1 .stf)
http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/galleryuser.php?userid=14316&gallery=Logs/&page=&type=

I probably posted links to the AEM software downloads earlier in this thread.
The .stf file is from my attempt to import the .txt into AEM Log.

Here's the maps:
(3 .mdb files)
http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/galleryuser.php?userid=14316&gallery=Maps/&page=&type=

the C&C1.mdb is the map that was causing misfires before the unit was re-flashed.
The Zero Delta and Base Cal files should both have no signal adjustments in the maps.
I am running the C&C1 map now, but it needs to be revised.
That map was created with the pre-flashed unit that was not reacting well to the adjustments.

good i took a look on teh map, ignition timing should not be changed for n/a, AEM FIC can't advance timing, they can only retard timing. Fuel seems good, the guy tuned part throttle for you.

I attached a map for my 626.

Any updates on this I am thinking of purchasing this system alot
of STI guys say its a great product!!!!!!!!!

Great if you are running boost or planning to. No ignition advance for the NA crowd, only retard and fuel control.
Not "easy" to use, but about the same as the MPI was.

plenty available MPIs in the FS section usually.
For the price, I would go with the AEM.
Their tech support has been good.

So you were the one that installed this system on a N/A setup -
do you one anyone that has sucessfully installed it on a MSP?
