AEM custom intake

:
2003 Spicy Orange MSP
Well this intake started its life as a red CAI for a 2000 civic si, my fiend got a new V2 so he gave it to me. It had been cut in half for a bypass valve which turned out to be almost perfect. I used the end that used to run down into the fenderwell. I had to cut the bottom curved part off about 4 inches from the end. Then it was off to the powder coating shop where some orange w/silver flake was baked on....I love it....Throttle response is much better than the intake i made before, although the BOV is not as loud the power feels better

Very nice! And; I know, many of us are hoping that AEM is going to produce a 'short' or CAI intake for the MAZDASPEEDs.

HELL YEA i had a 2000 Si and still have the AEM CAI from it i just used the filter but after reading this im gonna try it

Exactly the same thing I did on my car, but used my Spec V intake. Has some extra brackets and whatnot, but those will be fine till my Injen arrives.

i heard that a cai doesn't really do much. by the time the cold air hits the hot turbo, it would be the same. thats what i heard. BUT those dyno charts from injen look pretty good.

AEM intake looks awesome.

I was stuck on INJEN, but AEM is definately up there as well. Installed one on an '96 Prelude for my bud and it sounds great. Slight kick in at around 3, 500 rpms or around there, what surprised me the most was the sound he got out of his 2.3L 4 cyl.

I looked online and AEM does make an intake for the Protege... I assume it will fit an MP3 then too? any thoughts..

finally made it back to the track and having only changed my intake since last time i picked up .2 tenths of a second, and the car pulls much harder on the top end now
