advice on a decent sub setup...

I have never really purchased a decent system in any of my cars before and was wondering if anyone thought this might be overkill or whatever for my new MS3...

Amp: JBL Grand Touring Series GTO301.1 - amplifier (300 Watts)

Speaker: JBL 12" of the same series.

Fit: A smaller box that won't take up much room in my trunk.

A local place here in Tampa says they can do it for $420 installed.

Any thoughts, suggestions?

Someone pointed out that the stock head unit has a replacable amp, should I pump up the power to the stock Bose speakers while I am at it? I want quality over quantity....

I would say sound deadening in the doors.

A single 10 or 12 on 300 watts RMS will be more than adequate. I would see how much the equipment costs on the web at authorized dealers and then see how much they are charging you for installation and installation materials.

$420 seems a little low to me.
