Advice needed on I-pod adapters for Miata 2006 with Bose stereo system

Do I-pod adapters usually work with Bose systems? Are there any problems I should be aware of? I was told that only limited display and functionality will be available. The part I am thinking of installing has code number C23679CFZ.
I just got off the phone with the dealer, and they could not confirm that the adapter will run problem free with the Bose stereo system in my 2006 Miata.
Your advice will be highly appreciated fellaz!

Check out http://www.therpmstore.com for aftermarket adapters. They work better than the factory ones. You will not get much in the way of display options. They usually just count time from the last time you changed the track. They work with steering controls though so you can skip tracks. The disc up/down controls will cycle through your playlists.
