Hello guys,

I just bought a used MS6 a couple of days ago. So far, I really love it.

I had one question, though. I already did a search on the forum and could not find anything related to that.

If I remember correctly, the first days that I had the car, I would actually carry my key card and the doors would automatically unlock once I'd be near the car, without having to press either the unlock button or the gray switch on the door handle. Same would happen if I would leave the car, the doors would automatically lock, without having to do anything.

Now, I need to either use my key card to unlock the doors, or to approach the door and press the gray switch on the handle. Looking the doors once I leave the car still works great.

Have I been day dreaming? Is this normal? Is there really such a auto-unlock feature? Should the doors really unlock by themselves every time I approach the car with the key card?

Thanks!

It will not UNlocked the doors. It will however lock them for you. From the drivers side pressing the button once will unlock only your door, twice for the rest of them (including trunk). From either the passenger side or the trunk, 1 press will unlock all the doors and trunk.

I always have to press the button on the smart card or the door handle to open it or close it. I have had your issue a couple of times but that happened mostly in the winter and I thought that was something screwy. Sometimes the doors wouldn't open or close with the door handle buttons. I took mine to the dealer and they had to reflash the computer and replace one of the buttons.

also if you press and hold the the unlock button on the remote, it will roll down all four windows. but to put them back up, you have to press and hold the call button on the door. kinda stupid if you ask me, i wish you could just hold the lock button on the remote. that way if its raining you wouldnt have to even go outside. but still a cool feature.

I was just thinking that the other night when I went...OH $@%^ it's raining and had to run through a torrential downpour.

Wow, my car never locks when I walk away from it, and the only way I can roll my windows up and down is if I pull my key out and turn it in the actual key slot.
