Mazda CX-5 Sport Manual 2015
Hello to everybody
I'm a newbie, I can't find this information anywhere.
I want to add rear fog lights to my manual CX-5, but can't find a wiring harness anywhere, there are some prewired in the front though.
Is there a wire that goes to the back for this? Or I will have to put a cable all the way there so I don't get rear-ended on a very foggy day?
If anybody knows, I"d really appreciate the answer.
So far, I've added a Curt 2" hitch have have used it a lot, I really like my first Mazda ever, I just wish I could have one with the 2.5 engine and 4wd, but I refuse to buy an incomplete car (one that is missing a pedal).
Cheers,
Al

Mazda eliminated everything supporting a rear fog light available in other regions on CX-5 for the US market. You have to start from scratch to add a rear fog light. Firstly you need a non-US spec light stalk switch with rear-fog capability, and find a way to enable both front and rear fog indicators in the instrument cluster if possible for US version cluster as the rear fog switch is a trigger switch and you have to have a rear-fog indicator to tell if the rear fog is on or not. You have to lay wiring harness all the way from front fuse panel area to the rear bumper, and get a rear fog light housing and lens to replace the current left red reflector on the bumper.

Chris_Top_Her did a mod replacing two red rear bumper reflectors to LED lights with after-market housings. But he pulled power from tail light and brake light, and they're not rear fog lights.

It requires a lot of work. The light switch is hard to find and could be expensive. And we really don't know if the US instrument cluster supports disabled fog-light icons. Let's why nobody is discussing it or even to try it.

Yeah, I hate an incomplete car too - with missing rear fog light and fog light indicators.

Thank you for your informative and accurate reply.
I guess I will run a wire from the front foglights to a relay that will send power to the rear foglights, that way I don't draw too much power from the front, and the rear foglights will come on when I turn on the front ones. This way I won't have the cool indicator as in the european cars (I remember my old Peugeot had it too) but it will work.

Really I'm not sure what makes my light different than any other rear fog light, aside from me not having a dedicated switch lol. My rear "fogs" always come on when braking and are on when the rear lights are on, which they would be in a foggy situation. I actually get more use out of mine than the OEM setup
