Hello everyone, when I start my car and turn on my ac or heater the car begins to make this squeaking noise. When I press on the gas pedal it gets louder and soon enough it goes away. Also when I'm driving the "AC" light on the button keeps flickering on and off. Does any one have an idea whats going on?

Same problem with the light flickering. I can feel the compressor go with the light flicking. Old post but anyone have ideas?

quick search will show that this is a common problem and there is a DIY fix for this as well......

Yea believe it or not it is actually the fan speed selector switch that goes bad. Move the lever in between speeds and you will see the light come back on but if you have it fully engaged to like the fan speed 1,2,3,or 4 it will not work or flash on/off sometimes. Mine went bad and only worked right on 1 and in between 2and3 i think it was. BTW tighten your ac belt or get a new one for that matter....thats your noise.

i had the same probems, but unrelated fixes....my ps belt was loose so just try tightening that up. also ive heard if you clean the connectors itll fix the ac problem and im thinking about changing the ac compressor just to see if that does anything

The green AC light engages when the circuit is completed through the AC compressor clutch. So when you turn the ac on it opens the relay to power the clutch and returns back through which completes the circuit to power the light. A loose belt is just going to make it squeel...not going to keep the clutch from engaging. Clutches themselves can go bad on the compressor which could keep the light from coming on.
